It’s not every day you have a root canal filling, sell a house and leave the country, so I reckon I deserve this French cider aboard the Brittany Ferries Armorique en route from Portsmouth to St Malo
Strictly speaking, this is my second day on the road. The first took me from Cotton House in Lea Bridge to Cardiff and an overnight stay with Nicky and Paul. Lottie was delighted to see Nicky and the Boys.
The root canal filling took 2 hours but I enjoyed the fact that the dentist was able to knock up a crown on the spot using a kind of dental 3D printer after photographing my teeth, so all done in one session.
Before setting out for Portsmouth, I accepted an offer on my house in Capena (the first sale fell through due to a burst water main that flooded the house). Fingers crossed the sale will go through this time.
I’ll explain why and how I’m leaving the country (for Portugal) in a separate post, as it’s a long story…
As I’m enjoying my cider in the bar, Lottie’s sitting it out in the car down in the bilges. I’m allowed to visit her at 9.30 pm and am hoping she accepts my peace-offering of a dental chew before I abandon her again for the night. We arrive at 8.30 tomorrow morning, so she doesn’t have too long to wait.
